Finally... A blog on the China holiday

Haha... "What's the point?" I hear you say. Well, just for the sake of having a record :P. Enjoy (hopefully it's not too much text...).. I'm pretty sure there's some typos and grammatical errors here and there but really... Meh.

More photos in the albums =]

From Sydney to Beijing: 8th January

    Woke up at: 7AM

My room... All prepared for when I come back home.

Our plane was meant to depart at 10:50AM... but it got delayed by half an hour. Long plane trip to Guangzhou... but luckily we still made it for the plane to Beijing (from Guangzhou). It was from then on that I started being Jackson's "director" (ie. translator, navigator, instructor, etc...). Didn't get any sleep at all on both planes (Jackson slept like a pig)... And we finally got to Beijing (-8 degrees C) at 11PM Beijing time (which would have been 1AM AEST), where we were supposed to meet our tour guide.

... And there was no one there! The airport gradually became virtually isolated as everyone from the plane disappeared. We walked around in circles, searching outside (lot's of taxi drivers camping there, one came up to us and asked us where we were heading) and inside for someone holding a sign that was supposed to read our names... I went to the help desk, which didn't help. I rang one of the tour group people... Who didn't really help for 10 minutes until he told us to catch a taxi straight to the hotel. I went back to the help desk and asked the lady how to pronounce the name of the hotel in Chinese, and she rang the hotel, asked for our names, then said that we weren't booked into the hotel. ARGH! Stress levels were rising... I rang the tour group dude again, who told us to go to the hotel anyway and we'd be fine... A bit anxious, we walked towards the exit... Then a woman comes up holding a piece of paper that read: Aus/Asia Tour Group, Ms. Wendy Qiu and Mr. Jackson Lin... RELIEF (where the hell was she before?!)! Then she blabbed a whole lot of Chinese to me, handed me a note from the tour guide, and drove us to Jade Palace Hotel (40 minute ride, where I also talked to the tour guide on the phone: "They told me you were arriving at 11AM!").

Hotel room was pretty. 5 Stars. Exhausted. Bed at 1:30AM.

AN (outdated) INTERRUPTION TO THE CHINA BLOG

31st March, I found my old 8cm by 4cm pocket radio melted in the box that I stored random things in... including my nail polish remover.

Well, when I say “melted” I don't mean totally liquefied (that'd be some hardcore nail polish remover...). I opened my cupboard and it stunk of nail polish remover... I opened the box that contained it: it, along with some paper cut-outs, 3 earphones, coin purse, a tiny photo album (without photos) and of course, my radio. And yes, that's right: the cap of the nail polish remover (which had been there for several days) was loose so it spilled all over my stuff, turning everything plastic (yes, including the purse and the 3 earphones) into something that had the squishiness of blutak or semi-dried PVA glue.

It'd be interesting to check the inside of the $40 radio that I used for a month in the beginning of year 10 (2004)... But after taking out the screws I realised the plastic's been melded together and quite inseparable.

I would like to take this opportunity to announce that: Reign Over Me is an awesome movie. Adam Sandler's fantastic. It's beautiful. I give it 4/5. And I watched it for free! Love my Access card.

    Beijing Day 1: 9th January

Wake up call at 6:30AM (so we had less than 5 hours of sleep). Our breakfast (buffet) was awesome. The place was really pretty, good variety + tasty food XD...

We met the rest of the people from our tour group, which included a family of 3 Americans (hehehe I love their accent XD)... A Canadian... And a family of 4 from Sydney. Our tour guide was cute =D =D (and looked like Melody). Set off at 8AM to the Summer Palace:

Jackson looks like a grumpy grandpa...

And we had lunch at... Chuan Ju De... obviously for Peking duck =]... *drool*

    And then... The Forbidden City:

And then... The Temple of Heaven:

    And then... An acrobats show.

And then we had dumplings for dinner. The food was A++.

    Beijing Day 2: 10th January

Jackson wasn't very well prepared clothing-wise, and would have risked freezing his legs to numbness if he hadn't worn my pink dotty pajama pants underneath his jeans during our stay in northern China. Too bad I didn't take any photos.

Same morning schedule as the day before. First stop was a jade factory, where Jackson got his Chinese name engraved on a stamp for 100 yuan (divide that by 6 and you get the Aussie price).

And then it was the Great Wall! The steps are quite evil: steep and narrow, and tiring to walk up continuously (hehe someone puked). When I got lazy going back down, I shuffled with my butt... Which made my jeans very very brown =\

We went to the Ming Tombs... Too bad we didn't get to see an actual tomb. Pretty with peaceful music...

Then we went to a Wutong... To tell the truth I'm still a bit blurry on what it is exactly, but it's something along the lines of a town that's not urbanised. We rode in this carriage, with a guy peddling a tricycle in front (160 yuan). Hehe physical labor is awesome. Then we invaded someone's house.

Dinner was at a minority culture restaurant, pretty nice. The restaurant people tied a red string around our wrists, for luck, I think.

We watched a suuuuuuuuper Shaolin performance for 90 yuan: which was less than half price (thanks to our tour guide's fake student ID)!

    Xi'an Day 1: 11th January

Morning call: 5AM. Boarded 8:20AM plane from Beijing to Xi'an, and said bye bye to Beijing tour guide (forgot to give her tip). Plane trip was 1:30 hours.

Jackson + extra stupidity = leaving phone charger in Beijing hotel.

Our Xi'an tour guide Mr. Zhu, quite old... At our arrival to the airport a whole bunch of randoms started helping us to put luggage on the bus... Then asked for money.

1:10 hours bus trip to lunch... The tour guide attempted to do some explaining/history/etc but no one was listening: everyone was tired and sleeping.

Waahh it's so long... :O... lol

    Tangcheng Hotel: 4 Stars.

Tang dance performance. You reckon those big heads look freaky? Me too...

Dinner was a dumpling banquet =D!! That's two full sized dumplings XD (of course not all the dumplings were that tiny)

    Xi'an Day 2: 12th January

Morning call: 7:30AM. My hands were getting dry from the evil northern climate. Jackson's lips and hands were... cracking.

    Wild Goose Pagoda

    Terracotta factory

I bought a set of 5 terracotta warriors (well, 4 warriors and 1 horse) with a “free” emperor: 300 yuan.

    And here's the real deal...

Dwarf chicken tank (stubby tour guide): takes all beggar damage (by walking in front). They came in swarms after we came out of the terracotta warriors excavation site.

    Shanghai: 13th January

Morning call: 5:30AM. Flight to Shanghai 9:20AM. Tour guide asked for tip. 2 hour flight.

This time tour guide is a tiny girl named Hermy.

    Yuyuan Garden

A birded shitted on my camera's screen.

We went to a pearl factory... The lady took a clam out of the mini pond and gouged it open with a knife =(... Then they led us into the store and closed the doors. Haha. Jackson bought moisturiser for 35 yuan.

You can sort of... vaguely.. tell it's us... and the Bund

Here's a much clearer video of the place.

We spent 20 minutes on Nanjing Rd. Jackson bought a overcoat/jacket.

I would like to remind Shanghai that it’s located in China.

    Suzhou: 14th January

As we left the hotel, a guy camping outside asked us for our tax invoice (so he can claim tax in our stead).

We took a coach from Shanghai to Suzhou. First spot was the Master of Nets Garden (whatever that means).

Then we went to a silk factory. The tour guide burnt a sample of silk and compared it to “fake” silk (synthetic) and taught us how to differentiate between the two. We saw baskets of silkworm cocoons... and workers breaking them open and stealing the silk. We also tried our hands at stretching bundles of silk to form layers for the silk quilts... It was surprisingly hard >_>... To think those female workers do it all day XD, to perfection!

We had an early dinner at 5:00PM, and got to the hotel (Suzhou International Conference Centre...) that is supposed to be four stars but looks more like five stars.

    Wuzhen/Hangzhou: 15th January

After breakfast we left for Wuzhen... with no guide. It was only the bus driver. He had no idea either. So he ended up guiding us through the old town...

In the afternoon we arrived at Hangzhou. Nice place with lots of trees... But shame there was a heavy overcast. We went on a boat ride (West Lake)... Then tea plantation, where we bought very expensive green tea =D (600 yuan for two big bottles + free small one)... Then we bought some tea lollies and tea biscuits...

I started to develop a cough that night.

    Guilin Day 1: 16th January

I felt very sick after the plane trip to Guilin: mainly headache and sore throat. (Flight was 11:35AM from Hangzhou arriving at Guilin at 1:25PM).

First stop was “xiang bi shan” (literally ‘Elephant Trunk Hill)...

      ...then Reed Flute Cave:

We bought two packets of cold medicine for 9.50 yuan each. Felt a bit better after one dose of medicine.

    Guilin Day 2: 17th January

Wake up call at 6:30AM. Felt tired, had a headache, sore throat, etc...

We had a 3 hour cruise on Lijiang River. Saw rock mountains and the funniest thing of this entire trip: river merchants XD XD. They’d row up next to the boat on planks of wood and try to sell you fake jade sculptures, fans, etc... In extremely negotiable and low prices (Jackson “haggled” with them on the other side of the window and easily reduced the price from 100 yuan to 10 yuan... not that he bought it).

    On board the cruise...

Then we went to an art museum.

We went back to the hotel by 2 something. Slept from 3 to 6:35PM. My headache cleared but throat killed.

Jackson and I skipped the minority singing and dancing to take a rest.

    Guilin Day 3/Guangzhou: 18th January

We went to a tiger and bear zoo in the morning... Watched a show... Walked around the zoo in mild rain.

We had lunch then went to the airport. Arrived in Guangzhou at around 2PM after a 50 minute flight.

People couldn’t be bothered going to places according to the itinery and ended up only visiting Family Chen’s place and a souvenir store.

Met with my uncle at the hotel in the evening... The next day would be my our first day living at my granny’s place... till 11th February.

Random entry found in diary: 28th January

Been playing Final Fantasy Tactics in Guangzhou... Went ‘Beijing Road’ with Jackson... Grandview Mall (the biggest shopping centre in Asia)... ya... yes...

Now in Guangzhou East Station waiting for a train to Hongkong...

THERE’S A GIRL AT 4 O’CLOCK WHO LOOKS JUST LIKE BILLY!!!! (except less tall, whiter skin with curly hair).

Ah yes.  We indeed go to Hongkong... a downer was that the train was 1 hour late.

On our first day I met with my grandpa and grandma (on my dad’s side), and went night shopping with my aunt (and Jackson, of course). I bought several pieces of clothing.

The next day (29th January), we went Disneyland! Yay! Hahaha =]... It was pretty fun. Quite small though, of course. But still fun! Weee...

    Entrance to Disneyland... Damn backlight

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves =D! Ahh... I loved them since I was 3 XD

    Disneyland Express

    Hehe I love the castle.

    ...

On 5th February we went to Beihai, and met up with Jackson’s dad. He had a junkie taxi driver take us around to places... I mean, he was pretty cool, but kinda funny how he asked if Jackson and I were communicating in “Australianese”, and what part of China ‘Australia’ is in... and how he took us to the black market when Jackson’s dad told him to take us to an electronics store. Then we found out he had no highschool education.

    Beihai

In the afternoon Jackson and I took a bus to Qinzhou, his grandfather’s home. We had dinner with his family... Then went karaoke (where nobody sang, they just ate). We stayed at Jackson’s uncle’s place: it’s got 5 floors.

The next day we went to Jackson’s grandpa’s place. Ah... It was nice to see that he remembers at least fragments of his home when he lived in China (“I remember the water pump!”). The place was a bit like a farm.

This is definitely illegal in Australia... Haha. Qinzhou's motorcycle "taxi" (yes, the rear end has no door)

We also went to a strawberry plantation whilst we were at Qinzhou. They were very nice and we picked a basket full =).

In the morning of the third day we were driven to Nanning Airport, then flew back to Guangzhou to spend our last few days shopping around (mainly Grandview and Teemall) before we cae back home.

Here are some pics from Guangzhou...

    http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/y1pe1QxN2PtnVRDvl9SMQqRppisrHU98n14xZ023OsxKr2aj-XjPy6rPzCSrcO5xMhl
Mostly Final Fantasy Tactics... and some random MSN Zone games... Yes, that's how we spent most of our time when we were not out. Haha.

We went to a place called "Da xue cheng"... or "University Village". It's basically universities of Guangzhou clumped together on one island. We just drove around and looked at the buildings.

This picture doesn't show much but Pizza Huts in China are so glam! I mean, compare our take-away stores with their full sized restaurants... They have much more variety too.

"Baiyun Mountain" ("White cloud")... Very nicely landscaped =]

Bird show on Baiyun Mountain =O... they learn to scab the larger notes first... Here's a video:

Statue of the Five Goats... a place we were supposed to visit for our tour except the others weren't bothered

Another place we were supposed to visit... The Sun-Yat San Memorial

Teemall! Around 15 minutes walk from where we stayed.

Grandview Mall... Biggest shopping centre in Asia... Though this isn't the main facade.

A video of the Grandview Mall... Not very long, but it shows you the atrium space... The very big, atrium space.

    Tianhe Sports Centre

Me, Granny, and the washing machine

Lastly... I present a photo of Anton with a souvenir we bought from Guangzhou:

Again, there's more photos in the photo albums! Farewell, friends =].

    May 27

The blog after the one for NYE... I think

This is, for now, the God of all drafting tables: http://www.dickblick.com/zz515/71e/ (I know the URL looks sort of suss but it's just an arts supplies site).

Drafting easle has been added to my wishlist!

How goes me? Alright... Kinda stressing at the moment because we've got the final design due in 9 days and I basically haven't started on 90% of the final product... Heh .. heh.

And what happened at China? Oh it was so long ago (like it ended... more than 3 months ago?). I'm still blogging about it. Very slowly. Saved on a .doc file on my computer. Somewhere. I'll post that up. Some time. Overall, it was pretty cool. If only I could experience that "coolness" right now to take my mind off things... But instead I've gone back to Neopets for comfort. Yeah.

MY SITE MODEL IS RETARDED!!! But you don't care.

Wushu's boring now... A lotta people left for other venues (especially Hurstville since William migrated there). And a bit repetitive. Though it's a start that we're learning cudjule now (I think I've spelt it wrong).

Hmm maybe I should post some of my design work up... If I'm bothered. Nah maybe not. They're noob.

Oh and Jackson and I watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3 when it came out (24th May), 6PM. The theatre room was totally filled and quite a selection of them were dressed in pirate costumes... One was telling pirate jokes... Funny in a painfully lame sort of way. The lobby was also completely packed, and there were some dudes in Jack Sparrow costumes wandering around (they're so ugly compared to the real deal xP). I rate the film... 7.5/10. Dead Man's Chest 8.5/10. Curse of the Black Pearl 10/10... Yeah... I think it lost a bit of its charm... But still good! I'm sad it ended. And so far 18 people have fallen for the "spoiler" on my MSN screen name... Haha losers (but can't blame them =P; they won't find out the truth until they read this blog or until they watch it).

My love to you all who are bothered to read my insignificant blog =).

    Until next time, farewell!
    January 02

    New Year's Eve 2007

It started off with me waking up, playing Zelda then heading off to King’s place at 11something AM to drop off my sleepover stuff.

It was 12something when we got to Blues Point (me, Jackson, King, King’s cousin). The places right next to the water were fully occupied, so we took a place around 50m from the water instead.

Nothing really happened until people started coming… The place was fully packed by 8PM. King, Jackson, Ben and I went to get everyone’s dinner… Well they did, whilst I tried to look for a toilet around North Sydney with no luck at all =\. First newsagent guy said train station: I went there and the toilets were demolished. Second newsagent guy said there’s one inside a particular pub: Everything was closed except for toilet-less fast food stores. That resulted in me waiting 50 minutes in the toilet queue when we got back… Watching 5 minutes of the 9PM fireworks in front of the toilets… 2 minutes of it was whilst I was inside the toilets… And the rest I had my back towards because I was walking to our little camping spot. Two random skip guys offered me a hug.

(Our view of the fireworks whilst sitting down.)

Oh whilst I was lining up, there were a line of girls pissing against the wall. They were synchronised.

Then it was a 3 hour wait (though it went past pretty quickly) till the 12AM fireworks. Had fun watching Ben and Anton slap each other. Forgot what else happened… Other than some incident involving urine, someone shoes and Jackson’s stuff… And another several incidents that involved someone, fart and Chris’ face. The 12AM fireworks were pretty: someone send me a video :P.

It was free for all towards King’s place afterwards. I was accompanied by Jackson and Priscilla towards North Sydney station, then Central station, then Marrickville station… Nat, King, Ray had present exchanges. Got driven to Henry’s place after I had one of King’s mum’s steamed buns.

It was 3AM. Tried to sleep. Didn’t really work with everyone screaming in the background. Wtf was with the million randoms that I’ve never seen before. Stuff happened. Vodka’s disgusting. 5AM. Went to park with King, Ben, Sarah and Jackson. Got pwned by mozzies. Stupid clouds were covering sunrise.

Back to King’s place at 7AM because Henry’s parents kicked us out (subtly, lol). There everyone slept.

When I got home (by Nat’s car xD) it was 1PM… Didn’t feel drowsy until 5PM… Napped… Woke up for dinner… Set alarm clock to 8PM… Napped… Ended up waking up at 2AM. It was then when I brushed my teeth for the first time this year.

    December 20

Minor disappointment... HSC Marks and UAI

Currently listening to: My Love - Justin Timberlake

I barely got any sleep during the previous two nights because results and UAI were on my mind... These were my results (got the message at 5:48AM 19th):

Oh yeh, I owned Japanese Extension. Not.

Those marks got scaled down a lot:

I wanted 98!! Because it looks pretty... And so I could get a... 1% chance at getting the $1k/year for 5 years scholarship... Poop.

Oh well who cares. At least I know I spent no money on tutoring and semi-bludged with Jap and 10 units xD.

    Farwell, HSC. Good riddance.

    December 12

    North Avoca for 7 Days

This is a bit of a lag but I typed the log on North Avoca through the past few days... (started on Saturday morning).

    And of course...

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NAT!!

    Now for the Avoca blog...

    . . .

I’m finally home! Touching my computer for the first time in 7 days felt somewhat strange but… I think being away from it for so long is a good thing =D (even though now I’m back on it). I’ll try really hard not to blab too much… Heh… Heh… Heh… But overall it was awesome =D. Shouts to Ray and Goldie for organising! And of course Andrew too, for the foooooooood =). Oh and King and Nat for the music… And the other dishwashing people… Raymond again for taking care of our laundry… And basically EVERYONE for being so cooperative xD (thus making it a totally awesome vacation).

I might have a few events jumbled up… But I don’t think I’m the only one with a blurred memory of Avoca, am I =P?

    Day 1 – Saturday: Arrival

Jackson came over the night before so he can hitch a ride in my car early next morning. I had around probably 2 hours to 3 hours sleep, thanks to my persistently snoring brother (Jackson took my bed and I slept in my bro n mum’s room). Got up at 6AM; convinced that I would throw up during the trip. I had fun waking up Jackson though: I poked him in the stomach, he twitched, flipped and rammed into my wall.

“As a result of the minor concussion, I forgot my wallet.” Jackson (yeah, he did, he had to borrow my mum’s money).

Car trip: Nat’s place to pick her up. Kat’s place to assemble with everyone else. Three fully loaded cars towards Central Coast. Stopped by McDonald’s for breakfast/brunch at Erina Fair. Went to real estate to retrieve keys. Ray, Wallace, Lawrence, King, my mum and Ray’s mum went straight to the house with the luggage whilst others shopped for groceries.

Our first encounter was exciting =D. Ray, King and I (I think Wallace and Lawrence remained calm and collected) were squealing as we explored every part of the house. Pool. Balconies… In fact, here’s a video of the house: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dVvZ2ULwQw

I watched people play pool, Gamecube-d and that’s all I remember.

Dinner was Cabonara. We watched Advent Children before bed time.

“It’s funny how I’m able to scare half the guys in our grade but at the same time be afraid of the dark.” Kat

Day 2 – Sunday: A day of minor exploring

I don’t remember what we did that day… Mum and my brother stayed for a night (ie. Saturday night) and they left in the morning. The weather that day and the day before wasn’t very nice: gloomy with periodic rain.

Lawrence, King, Jackson and I headed towards Terrigal, our original place-to-stay. It was a 30/40 minute walk that included a 100m – 200m 45º incline (downhill). But the place was better in that it actually had lines of shops, compared to our place which was 5 minutes from the beach but 25 minutes from several Avoca stores. There was everything: supermarkets, Subway, drinks store, bottle shop… We bought two tubs of ice cream. The sky was clearing.

Dinner was mainly chicken, rice and soup. The roster was also established – Jackson and I had the job of cleaning up after dinner. Ray, the self-proclaimed housewife, took care of the laundry.

Day 3 – Monday: Goldie, the pregnant mermaid

We, now including Goldie (who was sick, so Monday turned out to be her first day in Avoca) went to Avoca Beach! We gave her a proper welcoming ceremony:

    We love Goldie

    Avoca Lake

    Lawrence + Me

Here’s a very shaky video of the beach: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bhzf8T7S2R4

Afternoon-evening was the pool… Diana and Kat claimed that when they entered it the day before that it was warm, but it was far from it! I got pushed into the pool by Andrew and it was FREEZING!! Nevertheless I spent more than half an hour in it. Andrew gave me rides on his shoulders, chucked me backwards, etc etc… And showed me this funny spa bubble trick xD. Playing dead in the pool was quite fun too.

After my shower I used a pore strip on my nose. Upon seeing it some people just gave me strange looks, King persistently tried to poke it (there was one instance where I was walking towards my bedroom door from inside my bedroom, stopped and turned right before King jumped out from the other side of the wall with his right finger raised in poking position), Ray commented that he also used one that night and loves how it makes your nose feel so smooth afterwards. I made Jackson use one too.

    Dinner was pasta =D.

    Day 4 – Tuesday: Terrigal

We went Terrigal again. This time with everyone else except for Andrew and Shari (and some other people… I don’t remember). We had lunch there: Jackson and I had some chicken wrap, the rest had classic fish and chips.

    People digging in

    Wallace + Nat + King + Jackson + Me

We spotted quite a lot of blue bottles and the lifeguards advised the whole beach to be careful. Ray went to buy some alcohol. We were speculating that he got arrested for buying suspiciously large amounts of alcohol for a teenage boy. As Ray emerged, old lady laughed at me for shouting “HOW WAS THE POLICE STATION”.

King got bored and wore my skirt. Ray wore my top.

     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu4gqAhhTIU

    Dinner was noodles.

We watched A Walk to Remember. It was touchy and sad and all… but you’ve heard it all before.

People played poker. Ray drank some alcohol and became extremely red in the face, super high (arm flapping, jumping, squealing, spontaneity…): it was very funny to watch xD xD. Extremely hilarious. Nothing happened to me, who drank one standard drink.

    Day 5 – Wednesday: Canoeing

I expressed that I wanted to watch the sunrise the day before, so asked Natalie to call me when it happens. But nope, she was asleep still. Instead, Jackson woke me up, hoisted me out of the bed and showed me a sun that was halfway through the sky. Even though I missed the sunrise it was still pretty: bright red/orange with a beautiful reflection on the water. The balcony was perfect for it. I went back to sleep minutes after though.

The things-to-do list contained canoeing (Aquamuse!) for the day. So we all headed towards Avoca Lake at 1:30PM… We started off with paddle boats, which really worked your leg muscles. Then it was canoeing: arm muscles; I spent most of my time trying to chase after swans. Last came water bikes (I’ll just call them water bikes since they looked like bikes on water), which required only Jackson to do all the work =D =D. We had water fights in the middle of the lake: everyone became fully soaked. The total time added up to almost 2 hours, it costed $14 per person.

Lunch was BBQ. We ended up with excess hotdogs so ended up giving two to the Aquamuse people, and several others to some grateful randoms we found on the park. Jackson, Andrew, Shari, Kat, Diana and I went back to Tramway (the street on which our house was). Jackson and I had a 10 minute dip in the pool (we were in swimmers already), which turned out to be warm, showered, then went back to Avoca Beach, to join the others who have stayed back, until the evening.

We had tacos for dinner, or more like beef wraps. The bread was a bit dodgy but everything else was cool.

It was King’s turn to get drunk. Well, almost drunk, a bit high. He bumped into me whilst running and had a 5 minute laughing fit afterwards. In fact, everyone who crammed into Nat’s bedroom was trying to get each other drunk. No one actually did, except for Lawrence (I heard he started ranting on about random things in the morning), but that’s probably because he was the only one who drank half a bottle of vodka (around 5 standard drinks).

Day 6 – Thursday: Wrapping up

I stayed home all day. It took me a hour or two in the morning just to work out how to properly bill (accommodation and food, namely) everyone. Yes, it required MATHS, something I haven’t even touched since late October. That got figured eventually with the help of King and Jackson, everyone coughed up their share. Started packing up after that.

For most of the day Jackson and I hogged Andrew’s Nintendo DS.

Everyone except for Jackson, Kat and myself went to Avoca Beach for the last time. Nat and Goldie were stung by blue bottles. Nothing major.

I helped cook that night!! It was basically a typical Chinese meal: rice with several dishes of meat and vegies. I got fat on ice cream. Meal times became pushed back further with every day we stayed. This time, dinner was at 11PM… People forced us to keep awake and take a photo at 1:30PM. I was very frustrated =).

    It took several takes…

    Day 7 – Friday: Goodbye

Got up at 6:30AM. Changed immediately. Finished packing. Ate two minute noodles. Left the house…

Went back to the Erina Fair McDonald’s (by bus, whilst Goldie’s and Ray’s parents took back our luggage) because most people didn’t eat noodles and needed breakfast. I had a large mocha and went from dead to hyperactive within minutes. I discovered a beetle on a window sill: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlIGZIyNkss; told Ray, who gave me a death stare; told Wallace to poke it, who picked it up with a spoon and put it into maple syrup. As others were finishing their breakfasts, Wallace and Jackson played with the beetle: poured all the maple syrup on it, butter, sugar… poked it. Wallace tried to impale it >=(.

Jackson chucked it in a bin whereas I advised him to put it on a tree.

Then we headed towards the shopping centre that was 5 minutes from McDonald’s. We went into Myers and I snagged several perfume samples. Then we went ice skating

Then movies to watch Casino Royale. James Bond turned ugly.

    Then food court to eat.

    Then bus to Gosford station.

Then train to Strathfield station. Jackson and King’s leg wax talk turned a few heads.

Then we went Easyway!! Oh how I craaaaaaved.

Then we went karaoke for 2 hours. Kat sang a lot =O! The best songs were Barbie Girl (Aqua) and Wannabe (Spice Girls), both where Kat and I participated predominantly in xD. It was hilarious.

Dinner was Korean BBQ. It was nice but quite expensive…

Then it was a sad farewell to all our housemates =( (even though we’re bound to see each other some time soon). Living together was very fun =D (and I miss it already!!... Avocaaaa~~). I want to do it again =)…

    November 28

The past week of eventful events

It’s been a few hectic days… Now all excitement has virtually settled. I can enjoy peace and quiet, along with the random outing here and there and possibly look for work (I’m still scared about interviews). It’s almost a headache trying to sort out all my photos (which to upload to where, which to develop, which to have doubles of, which, for some reason, there are two copies of, etc etc… yes lack of organisation), but I don’t want to forget too much detail before I blog down my past week.

Last Sunday (19th November) I went wushu as usual, then at night it was out to dinner for my birthday. I practised putting on makeup beforehand (believe me I really hate that stuff, especially now), so it was probably the first time I walked on the streets with makeup on, well, just the eyes.

Me looking bored before getting into the car.

    Lobster and Peking duck =D

Nelson and I eating Peking duck…

    Can’t go without Easyway =P

Monday was Cindy’s “Christmas” Party… We brought way too much food =P. But it was nice anyway: homemade ham, chicken, salad… And we also watched Over the Hedge. I went with Jackson to Burwood that afternoon to look for a tie, bumped into King and Longhai, etc etc etc… Home.

Tuesday!! 21st November and my 18th birthday. Received several birthday SMS xD. I went Burwood in Sydney stuffiness to get my hair styled… the hair made me look old XP. Monica came over to hitch a ride to the formal, and as she walked up the stairs, yes, she looked exactly like Jessica xD. Then dad drove to Jennifer’s place to pick both Jennifer and Beth up, and it turned out that Beth hadn’t even arrived yet. Well she was probably late for … 5-10 minutes. That, along with the fact that dad got lost whilst driving, made the four of us 30 minutes late to the formal. People were still standing outside though.

My birthday present was a Fiorelli wallet =). It matches my watch xP.

And there it was “Watersedge”. Harbour Bridge right next to it. Along with a construction site.

The inside felt… claustrophobic. Lighting was perfect, and so was the wall that was all windows. The dance floor was way too small. Everybody was clumping onto it like ants to candy. The food was eek. Didn’t like the music. As Bob puts it, it was “kinda crap”.

Jennifer, Violet, Suyan, Yiling, Monica, Alice, Beth, me

    Jack and me

Ming (blinked xD xD), Lawrence and me

I spent virtually the whole night sitting at the table and chatting to Violet, Beth, Jennifer and co…

    “You should announce it!”

Wednesday!! I’m fully 18 and preparing for the Fort Street formal. This time I just went to a Bankstown hairdresser, and ended up waiting for 40 minutes… I was inevitably late for my meeting with Billy and the rest of the hotel co in the city… But good ol’ Jackson waited for me xD. It wasn’t that hard to get to the hotel anyway… We got there at around 2:40PM. Guys chucked their stuff down and left to prepare. Cathy and I stayed there to prepare. Alvien came really late so we ended up going to the formal with him, via taxi (the rest of the guys walked).

Upon arrival I was shoved with a bouquet of pink/orange roses. Supposedly for my birthday =P? The place was pretty from the outside, The Pavilion, surrounded by the Botanic Gardens

“I’m supposed to be looking for an ugly girl in a blue dress but I can’t seem to find her.”

Everyone spent probably the first half an hour taking photos. The food was nice, but the lemonade was really really dodgy. The music was alright… Except the dance floor was to the side, which I really didn’t like. I only spent around 10 – 15 minutes near the end of the formal dancing. I liked the lighting at the Ruse formal better… Fort one was too bright xD. But overall: Fort > Ruse =P (especially cos of the people). When we got bored we just started sucking up the helium from the balloons, and walked around outside.

    Cheng, Me, and Chenny =]

    Nat and Me X)

    Beth, Jacko and Meee

Random shot of The Pavilion’s interior

Our table: Nelson, Jordon, Nat, Anton, Alvien, Beth, John, Me, Jacko

    Jacko and Me

    Flowers on our table =]

A picture of … some building… as we were walking from The Pavilion to the hotel… Took it because it was both old AND orange =D

Morning after… some time between 5AM to 6AM… Ben and Me, after my bout of hysteria…

Yes I got virtually NO sleep that night… Once we got to hotel I showered, then played Chinese checkers with Longhai and Jackson, then slept… Well, TRIED to sleep. Several guys (namely Longhai) spent the whole night around the PS2/watching basketball and didn’t sleep. I “slept” from 2AM to 5AM… And once I got kicked out of the bed, for some reason, I started laughing uncontrollably, lost my balance and a bit of my sense of direction… That lasted for about 15 minutes… I think… Hmm…

    View from the hotel balcony

    People lazing around

    Me and Jacko… A bit after 6AM

    Me and Nat =)

If you haven’t already, please upload your formal photos to: http://06.thatsjustme.net/

We had Maccers for breakfast. Jackson and I had Subway and Easyway for brunch… Then it was towards home, via train (I was carrying craploads of stuff) with Nat, Wallace, King, Longhai and Ray. Wallace, King and Longhai got off at Marrickville to go to King’s place… Ray got off at Campsie… and Nat and I towards Bankstown where I was driven by her mum to my home X) X). For the entire day I felt like I was dreaming… and a bit of a zombie. Regardless of that I stayed awake until 9PM, and slept for 13 hours non-stop until next morning.

Understandably I stayed home the next day. Uploaded photos… Stuff… Don’t remember… I don’t remember what happened the day after that either… Oh well.

As for Saturday, my family suggested to have yumcha with Bob’s family. So we did. Yeh.

Sunday… Wushu till 11AM then off the demonstrations in Hurstville… We stuffed up a bit but who cares. Jackson came over for a bit, so did Nat and Sarah. They just mucked around on my MSN.

Yesterday!! Jackson and I went Fort Street, to sell book. Yes. Book. Then Nat, Kat, Matt, etc came to celebrate Cindy’s birthday… Which is today!! Hehe. We had mud cake.

Then Jackson and I went city to FINALLY buy stuff with his birthday money… It was spent on: 3 shirts, 1 jacket/sweater, 1 wallet. =)…

And dad FINALLY installed a new door knob on my door… I haven’t had one since 2 days before the HSC started…

And so, that was my wonderful week =).

Plans ahead include: Movies and K tomorrow, Terrigal next week, China late January till Chinese New Year, and perhaps somewhere with family during Christmas…;; Job searching.

Wednesday 15th November (Last Day of HSC… 7th Exam)

Saturday 18th November (A few days after temporary total liberation)

I’ll just summarise: Between Biology and Japanese Extension, I did a combination of studying with Krystal and Nat, clearing the stuff under my bed (there weren’t any cockroaches =D =D!!), bleached more leaves, rearranged photo album, play Insaniquarium, etc etc…

And last Friday, I went with the chemistry people to the city to take photos, here are two of ‘em:

    This one's not edited

Thursday was sign out day. I had to pay $15 for two maths booklets I have lost (I have absolutely no idea where they’d be). Otherwise, I got my $105 back for locker + books (mum told me to keep it). I didn’t end up selling my 3 English books because I rushed off with Beth to Burwood to eat. I’ll donate my uniform on UAI BBQ day… which will be in more than a month.

Jackson came along to yumcha too. Then we met Anton, who went with Beth to buy his formal shirt. Then Jackson and I travelled to St. Peters, to meet with Harry and search for their formal suits.

Oh and I saw Chris at work (sort of) when I went Centro Bankstown that afternoon. He advised me to try out for a Telstra job… Seems like a giant leap for me xD… Too giant…

Yesterday (Friday)… We went Bondi Beach. It was an hour’s worth of sand-shuffling and rock-walking before Jackson and I went to Fort Street – to finish off his signing out business (long story). Then he came over to my place for a while.

Now I am at home… No plans to go out today but as for the days coming:

Sunday: Wushu during the day. Out to dinner for my birthday (Hurstville, because the birthday girl said so).

    Monday: Cindy’s “Christmas” Party.

    Tuesday: James Ruse formal.

    Wednesday: Fort Street formal.

Thursday: Hang around in the city, probably.

    Friday: Hibernate.

    My HSC Diary Part III

Sunday 29th October (10th Day of HSC… 1st Day of Daylight Savings!!!)

    I luuurve daylight savings!!

    It’s
10:40AM right now. I just watched the “She’s No You” (Jesse McCartney) clip… I reckon colour would be better for that song but it’s cute anyway xD.

Oh and also, I took a leaf out of the bleach and this is how it looked like:

    I think it’s purdy X).

Now to watch “Beautiful Soul”… lol.

    It was alright.

OMG “Because You Live” is so nice xD!!... Hehe.

    Okay I should study.

    Because you live and breathe

Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help

    Because you live, girl

My world has twice as many stars in the sky

Because you live, I live, I live

    So beautiful!!! Okay. Study.

    1:44PM: Okay… I can tell you I did nothing constructive…

    Monday 30th October (11th Day of HSC… 4th Exam)

Tuesday 31st October (12th Day of HSC)

Nightmare Before Christmas comes out today!!

Maths yesterday was okay except for the last question.

Studied a teeny bit of biology… No maths (which is tomorrow, extension 1) =|…

(8:15 PM) - Jackson: but im too fat
    (
    8:15 PM) – Wendy: yeh
(8:15 PM) – Wendy: i think you need to work your ribcage off
(8:16 PM) - Jackson: my ribcage off?
    (
    8:16 PM) - Jackson: lol
    (
8:16 PM) - Jackson: my boobs are too big xD

    Wednesday 1st November (13th Day of HSC… 5th Exam)

Exam was evil =] (extension1 maths).

Went Burwood afterwards… arrived at approximately 12:35PM. Walked towards Westfield food court and found Frank ordering KFC… who directed me to the rest of the Fort Street people.

And there was Jackson and like ten other guys having their pre-LAN lunches.

On the way to LAN (I had nothing else to do… I thought there’d be LAN-uninterested people who tagged along but they were all eager gamers) and just before we left Westfield, we saw a another group of Fort Streeters (Nat and co and Ray and... stuff xD). They were going to lunch so Jackson and I just walked a lap inside Westfield (LAN people ditched us) and then he eventually left for LAN… I gravitated towards the non-LAN group.

Food court: watched Sheila spike Goldie’s drink with lemonade and Sprite. Went to Woolworths for no good reason. Jordon can’t fold stars (tried to teach him… the straw I gave him ended up in two pieces).

    Went to Myers:

    -          Got King to carry my girly bag full of maths and other stuff

    -          Ray posed as a mannequin and was photographed by Nat and Goldie

    -          People tried to get other people to touch a mannequin’s ass

    -          Went to shoes section because Cindy wanted to look at stuff

    -          Went to the electronics section and people loitered there to watch Kylie Minogue on TV

    -          Massage by massage chairs: comfortable at times and discomforting at others

    -          Vibrating massage hand thing (I stopped playing with it after Jordon told me it’s been on Jackson’s groin last time they came here)

    -          Explored the toys section with Gab, Jordon and Lawrence: the bouncing Tigger is so cooool!!!

    -          I don’t think the store assistants liked us =)

We made a train of four people (well, I started it) as well walked out of Myers… which eventually ended up as me latching onto Lawrence and Jordon whilst they tried to make me trip/crash/get dizzy. This Westfield security guy asked us if we were “OK”… xD.

Nat decided to go home (when the train would have just left… conveniently), so walked towards the station. Train in 20 minutes. Went to LAN, bugged Jackson, listened to Cheng’s randomly shouts of profanity and commands. Left at 4PM to go home…

    On train:

    -          I decided to empty my bag of rubbish… including 3 Oportos freshening towels

    -          Sheila thought they were condoms at first (right shape of packaging… right texture)

    -          She opened them and shoved them onto Nat, too bad they weren’t wet enough

Thursday 2nd November (14th Day of HSC)

Friday 3rd November (15th Day of HSC)

Saturday 4th November (16th Day of HSC)

Sunday 5th November (17th Day of HSC)

    Monday 6th November (18th Day of HSC… 6th Exam)

I spent the whole day yesterday cramming and finally understanding the specific immune system… Couldn’t sleep till around 12:30AM last night… My days of slight-insomnia seem to be alternating. Got up at 6:45AM: Let’s hope the exam will be easy.

It was a gloomy morning, the sky looked like it was about to rain when I was on the train. When I got off, it started sprinkling. Then pouring. So I got out my mum’s cheap-ass umbrella that she shoved into my bag this morning. After a few seconds one of the joints shifted down, so I shoved it back up again.

Then there was a big gust of wind. The umbrella turned inside out. The joint snapped and the umbrella flew 5 metres behind me as I was left holding the handle. Looking stupid in the pouring rain.

I collected my umbrella from the ground and walked towards the group standing next to the traffic lights, obviously they saw the incident (and if they didn’t, they’d be smart enough to know my umbrella broke).

    Wendy: It broke =)

This Asian guy who was sheltering some junior Ruse kids just stood there and smiled at me.

I also managed to scrape the back of my leg with the metal handle before chucking it in the bin. I didn’t realise the end flared out.

So I walked into the library, soaked from head to toe, with an umbrella. Everyone was just slightly panicky in the senior study.

As for the exam… There were several dodgy questions… The 8 marker in the health topic was idiotic… The 7 marker in the genetics topic was ambiguous… Everyone felt the same so it was all good =) (if you’re one of those freako-nerds who didn’t, you’re not “everyone” >=( ).

I planned to go city to check out the location and price of this photo studio thingy. Jackson decided to tag along (how nice of him X) after he got his chemistry stuff marked at school. As we were travelling from Lidcombe to Townhall, he was going through my biology paper, and this guy popped up from behind him and started asking stuff about the paper. Turned out he was from King’s School (rich bastard) =O.

The photo studio was CLOSED. Gayness.

    My HSC Diary Part II

Saturday 21st October (2nd Day of HSC)

Got up at 7AM. Sleep was good and undisrupted until my brother started humming some random tune at 6AM (I’m pretty sure he was imitating something he saw on the computer) and my dad going stfu. Since my door has a hole in it right now even if it closes properly (and it doesn’t… it always leaves a varying gap), sound travels through it pretty well.

"Evil Fuzzles from Beyond the Stars" Played: 2 times (Beat high score, now it’s 1522)

    My hand hurts.

Sunday 22nd October (3rd Day of HSC)

Discovered the amazing-ness of Diet Coke + Mentos: http://www.cokementos.com/showvideo.php?videoID=14&top5

    Monday 23rd October (4th Day of HSC… 2nd Exam)

Yesterday I decided that (after writing 1 essay) that English can go f*** itself… Yet I also rewrote 50% of my powerplay essay =\ (last minute polishing ended up as major renovating). Downloaded Jesse McCartney’s album.

Anyway as for today’s exam… The questions were surprisingly lenient =D. I hope that by some wild chance I’ll scrape a 90 for English… >.<. Until next Monday I shall be sleeping in once more! Muahaha…

Tuesday 24th October (5th Day of HSC)

Wednesday 25th October (6th Day of HSC)

Went to Fort Street with Jackson today.

Thursday 26th October (7th Day of HSC)

Collected leaves and shoved them in bleach. Nothing happened: except for one that turned black.

    Friday 27th October (8th Day of HSC… 3rd Exam)

Saturday 28th October (9th Day of HSC)

Japanese exam (yesterday) was borderline alright to a bit dodgy… Hopefully I shall get 90+ xD.

Today: I read through a few pages of biology, that’s it. I hope I’ll be able to be more constructive tomorrow. Gonna sleep now: it’s daylight savings tomorrow (finally)!!

    Played Reversi with Jackson.

    *Signs off at 9:35PM*

    My HSC Diary Part I

I only have one exam left - Extension Japanese, and that's next Wednesday. I've been keeping a "diary" of some sort on my computer during the past few weeks... The orange bits are more read-worthy than the others... Though I would say you should read some of my environmental rantings =). I haven't finished my shout outs yet... I'm taking my time >.<... There's some unknown word limit on blog entries so I'll be publishing my "diary" in parts.

SOTM: Waiting on an Angel - Ben Harper

Friday 13th October (7 days until HSC)

Jackson's birthday. Burwood to eat cake. Watched "Step Up" with Jackson. Got home at around 5:50PM.

Sunday 15th October (5 days until HSC)

Played two games of "Evil Fuzzles From Beyond the Stars" on www.neopets.com.

Monday 16th October (4 days until HSC)

Copied out Module A and Module B essays. Played "Evil Fuzzles From Beyond the Stars" once again. Got pissed at Jackson during the evening, causing me to earn 872,373,595 points in "The Return of the Return of Dr. Sloth", which earned me 2000np (except it's worth 3489np and capped by Neopets; I got 2000np instead of 1000np as it was a featured game) improving from the original 13np.

Tuesday 17th October (3 days until HSC)

Jackson thought I was very very pissed so I thought I'd play along: I turned off my phone, and didn't go on MSN (and when I did, to check on my email, I stayed as "Appear Offline")... so I'd look extremely extremely pissed =D =D. Got phone call at around 2:30PMish (landline)...

    Wendy "Hello?"

    Jackson "You know your mailbox."

    Wendy "Uh.. yeh"

    Jackson "Go check it."

    Wendy "..."

    Jackson hangs up.

I got my keys. Realised I don't have the key to the mailbox. And got my mum's keys and went out in my slippers (Asian plastic ones). From the distance I saw a middle aged man bending down to look at something on the mailboxes (thoughts: "You better go away soon, I want to check my mail"), and walked towards him as I tried to decipher the correct key. I stood right in front of my mail box, still looking down at my keys. Once I looked up I realised what the man was staring at: A big orange gerbera with a long stem, clear wrapping and a tiny card perched next to all the mailboxes. The card read: "About Fucking Time You Received this   - Jackson" (one the side: "sorry writing in a rush";; yes his writing was quite ugly). For the first time in my life he gave me a pleasant surprise. I looked around to see if he's still on my street: Nope. I stepped towards my apartment then thought "Hey he shouldn't be that far away". After 10 seconds of pondering I decided to run towards the station. And yes he was nearby: Around 4 minutes walk from my place.

So then I decided to walk him to the station. I told him about my "apparent-pissedness scheme" and he pushed my head =(. But I don't care cos I've now got a BIG FAT ORANGE FLOWER XD XD XD. I scabbed a bit of his Happy Cup.

When I got home, mum was slightly pissed (expectedly) because she thought I would just check the mailbox and come back (which I planned to do)... And instead came back an hour later =D.

I earned another 2000np from "The Return of the Return of Dr. Sloth", but only with half the game points I earned yesterday (around 400,000k).

Wednesday 18th October (2 days until HSC)

I woke up (by alarm clock) at 7AM. Before 9AM, I sent 4 emails to virtually my entire address book, all with the same message:

"Hello fellow friends, acquaintances and total strangers (if the latter's the case I don't know how you got in my address book.. but who cares)! I expect to get a bunch of emails from postmaster since probably quarter of these emails are inactive... Anyway to the point:

    http://sunrisefamily.com.au/current/petition/form.php

If already I sent you this, since I sent several out due to the recipient limit (or you've already signed it), please ignore the email, but otherwise: PLEEEASE sign!! It's basically a petition so that the government will pay more attention to global warming. If you're thinking: What's a stupid petition gonna do? Then well, it's better than just sitting there and doing jack all!! It only takes a few seconds anyway... and for those who have the HSC the day after tomorrow, a few seconds ain't gonna do anything to your precious study. And if you really hate the heat right now, I recommend you forward this to all your friends, acquaintances and strangers too =).

Thanks for your attention!! And for those who actually sign it: I LOVE YOU!! Good luck for HSC for all those who have it =).

Some people seemed surprised that I was green. People who knew me better didn't question it =P.

And yes THANK YOU to all those who took the time to sign it =).

I also had the pleasure of viewing Anton's pulsating shoulder muscle (webcam): It seriously looked like there was a tiny heart in there >_>... It was freaky. That apparently continued for around 3 hours.

    Procrastinated until 11AM-ish.

Signed up with Greenpeace under the suggestion of Chris.

9:30PM. I locked my bedroom door to change into PJs, then unlocked it. The door wouldn't open: the lock was broken. This was what Anton had to say:

(9:41 PM) - Wendy: i'm locked inside my room

    (9:41 PM) - Anton: why?

(9:41 PM) - Wendy: the lock broke

    (9:41 PM) - Anton: rofl

    (9:41 PM) - Wendy: can't unlock it

    (9:41 PM) - Anton: hahahhahahahahahaahahaha

(9:41 PM) - Wendy: (Dancing worm emoticon)

    (9:41 PM) - Anton: hahahahahahahaha
    (
    9:41 PM) - Anton: lol

(9:42 PM) - Anton: i hope you fail eng =D

    (9:45 PM) - Wendy: lol

(9:45 PM) - Wendy: shut up

(9:46 PM) - Anton: up one rank for me =D

Dad and I finally got it open half an hour later (totally dislodged the knob and lock)

At 10:30PM I went to brush my teeth. Came back into my room, and saw a big fat cockroach on my ceiling.

Thursday 19th October (1 day until HSC)

Got up at 6:45AM by alarm clock. Essays a the following times:

Ryan: hey, never thought you'd send me an email. I signed the petition, i'm 75605. btw did you really mean it when you said "I LOVE YOU!!"? hehe ;; anyways, good luck for the HSC.;; I'll chat to you later.
Bob: wtf that was random ;; i signed it ..

    Chris Fung: no

So thank you to everybody except for Chris Fung =P. I saw some people’s names on the petition (yeah, out of the 70 000) and that made me very happy xD.

I’ve also decided today to find a presentation that David Suzuki (http://www.davidsuzuki.org/) gave in 1999, here are snippets I cut out from his 14 page presentation:

“I find it one of the great ironies, that in a time in which science and technology dominate our lives, that we have to be reminded of the great wisdom of traditional people around the world who tell us that the earth is our mother. From that perspective, not only is it horrifying to contemplate our current assault on our mother, it is obvious that a damaged mother will have enormous repercussions for her children.”

“Technology is very powerful. We love technology because we invent it to do things for us. But our knowledge about how the world around us works is so limited, we can’t anticipate what the costs may be down the road. Rachel Carson pointed out that technology has costs and that we’d better pay attention to the fact that, for any technology, we will always have to pay that cost.”

“Human beings and the natural world are on a collision course. Human activities inflict harsh and often irreversible damage on the environment and on critical resources. If not checked, many of our current practices put at serious risk the future that we wish for human society and the plant and animal kingdoms, and may so alter the living world that it will be unable to sustain life in the manner that we know. Fundamental changes are urgent if we are to avoid the collision our present course will bring about…

“No more than a few decades remain before the chance to avert the threats we now confront will be lost and the prospects for humanity immeasurably diminished. We the undersigned, senor members of the world’s scientific community, hereby warn all humanity of what lies ahead. A great change in our stewardship of the Earth and life on it is required, if vast human misery is to be avoided and our global home on this planet is not to be irretrievably mutilated.”

     - World Scientists’ Warning to Humanity

“Now this was a stark, terrifying document to release. But I will tell what was even more terrifying to me. It was the response of the world press to this document. There was no response at all. Our so called national newspaper, The Globe and Mail did not cover it; nor did our national electronics media the CBC. None of the major American television networks reported it. Both the New York Times and The Washington Post said, ‘This is not newsworthy’ and did not bother to report it. So when half of all Nobel Prize winners tell us we may have as little as ten years to avoid an absolute catastrophe, the media decide this is not newsworthy. I want to remind you that this is a major way the public is informed. I want to remind you what they do consider newsworthy. Think over the last three years, the absolute frenzy over the O. J. Simpson trial, over the death of a princess, Diana, and over Bill and Monica. The media then decides that this pronouncement from scientists was not worthy of reporting to the public. That, to me, is terrifying.”

    Friday 20th October (1st Day of HSC… 1st Exam)

Didn’t sleep well the night before: went to bed at 10:30PM, half asleep until 11:30PM when my dad made a racket, awake until around 12:30AM, woke up at 6:30AM.

Today was English. The comprehension was gay shit. The creative was slightly less gay shit (but killed my original idea). The essay was somewhat easy.

English better scale well. I want my 90 =(… Even though it seems quite impossible right now.

    I have a headache =(.

When I decided to start on my Module A essay practice (ie. Half-copying)… I realised I left my English folder at school (it had Area of Study AND modules)… I probably didn’t see it with my bag (hence didn’t get reminded of it) because it was considered “notes in the exam room”? Haha… Oh well. There goes all my highlighting and editing effort =|.

    October 01

    Dear Friends

I was meant to post the following up aaaaaages ago except it just remained on my offline blog document untouched. So now I can use this very extremely perfect opportunity to post this:

“Here's my intellectual suggestion to solve many of the world's environmental problems:

It's simple. Let smokers smoke all they want (preferably in tiny, isolated cabins, far, far away from me). Apply Darwin's theory of natural selection and viola - The human race has evolved in intelligence, pollution has reduced, and natural resources have become less strained.

Well, obviously it'd probably be way more efficient if we just gas everyone. No humans, no problems, no god.”

So now that’s out of the way…

I guess it's my turn to pay tribute to my friends. I know I probably almost never show any sort of love and sometimes consideration towards my friends, but that's who I am (on the outside *wink*) and I don't think I can ever change that =P. I'm too loud, too quiet, too honest, too deceiving, annoying, argumentative, apathetic, etc etc etc... But through all that I can really honestly say that I value each and every one of you for being a part of my life and for putting up with me, no matter how close you are, how distant you are becoming or how distant you have become.

    MORE TO COME VERY SOON!!

added: Reboc and Kat 5/10;; Billy 12/10

    JENNY
You know who you are. I have met many Jenny's in my life but you were the closest. You've said once that I copy you a lot, and that's actually true: I think part of my personality has been influenced by having met you in primary school. I think I’ve just become more random hmm… We kept relatively close contact after you left Auburn North in Year 5... And the day you did, I vividly remember crying myself to sleep. I also remember a boy commenting on the fact that I look "depressed" ever since you left, I don't remember what I replied to that, probably a stubborn "as if". Our letter exchanging (good old snail mail) was constant through to high school, and every single one of those letters I still have nicely kept in a box that's inside another box under my bed. Then I guess we started to drift apart after that, and only know of your presence online. Sometimes I find your numerous comments a bit annoying, a bit too biased, critical maybe; the insulting ones sometimes really hurt but the overtly complementing ones were just a bit scary; but as long as you're alive and well, I'm glad of it =). I remember my dad once asked you a stupid question whilst we were coming back from a trip to the Central Coast, it went something along the lines of "How will you two still be friends? She goes to Birrong Girls and you go to Sydney Girls." You simply replied without hesitation "We'll be friends no matter what." It really, really warmed my heart even though I said absolutely nothing and continued to face the front of the car. You will always remain the eccentric, yet kind Jenny that I always knew. You were my very first, real friend that I made when I came to Sydney 9 years ago, and I'll never forget that.
    Sorry for the out-of-date photo.

    NATALIE
Even though you weren't really the first friend I made when I went to Birrong Girls (Zareena was, really), you were the one who actually lasted. Maybe that's just because of lucky circumstances and stupid deals (Year 9: Wendy will go Chinese school if Natalie will go Wushu). I'm almost never serious when I'm around you, and I think it's because for some reason I just feel more playful around you (maybe cos you act like such a mum =P =P... just loose speculation). But really, I just think you're a very normal (though still, to an extent) person and I think I sorta need some of that since everyone else is sort of... abnormal. It was hard leaving the comfort of you, Carney, Mandy, Shanny and Christine to go to Fort Street in Year 10. And my anti-social attitude at first, was loosely based on my belief that nobody could ever replace my friends, and I don't want to forget them by replacing them. It sounds stupid and unbelievable but that was how I really felt, but of course it'd be more painful to lone around the school every lunch and recess and have no one to talk to in class. Yes, I felt you guys were that special. You've grown close to Fort Street, and sometimes I'd wish I was in your shoes, and even more often I wish I never left. But life goes on. Not too many sympathies because I expect to see you at least every Sunday from now on. I hope to see you often in uni (better be going to USYD). Keep up the energy =).

And of course the rest of the Birrong girls, I haven’t forgotten you! Special shout outs to: Carney, Mandy, Christine, Shanny, Emma (you don’t know how many times I’ve mentioned to others your strange antics), Zareena (great buddy in Year 7), Lauren (peer molester… j/k =P), Megan Brayshaw (thanks for the constant MSN company throughout Year 7… you were very interesting to talk to until I crashed your computer =D I’m still sorry!), Gina (even though she blocked me once for typing 123456789 too much), Sandy and Uyen (I still love the hot pink photo album).

    BETHANY
When I first saw you, it was love at first sight the first thing I thought was "She looks very lost". Second time I saw you, "She looks very Asian". When I went to
Fort Street I was really scared of joining the wrong group, eg. the material girls, the druggos, the fully skips... And I brought that paranoia with me as I met anyone at Fort Street. That's another reason why I didn't talk a lot during my first days: Maybe I'll gain the interest of those "wrong groups" (and I was almost petrified when Elise was the first person to introduce herself to me). I think it was through meeting again in roll call that I "officially" became part of the group, and at the sight of Reboc's randomness, I knew I was there to stay =P. People say we act like sisters because we're together most of the time, we moved to Ruse together, we invade Fort again together... And sometimes I reject that because I want my individuality. But I guess being "sisters" doesn't necessarily extend to the point of "acting alike", but I believe by what we've been through and perhaps by how we think, that definition's close enough, and that definition I accept =P. You have made an impact on my life, and led me to believe that Scopios can get along with Geminis =P. You don't take criticism and insults to the heart. That is admirable =). You better make it to USYD.

    REBECCA
If you already read my little tribute to Dudu, you’d know how important you were in deciding my um… joining of your group (that was as eloquently as I could put it just then). The thing I remember most about you is that you opened up a whole new world of weirdness to me: at times you were a bit of a grandma, at others you were an hyperactive octopus spouting out random "philosophies". I just read your comment on my blog and OF COURSE I’d include you =P =P (You were always the next to be up actually), and for obvious reasons =). We interacted in mostly maths… Ahh the good old days with Mr. Bayas (who is, by the way, THE best maths teacher in the entire universe), his teases, his sadistic stories, his real-life whacked up stories, his undiscriminating action in giving me an estimate of HD for my task which he lost… Aaanyway this is about REBOC! Haha. I was almost amazed at the fact that you treated the person who sat in front of us with such… (almost) kindness. That though, led you to some difficult situations in which you and Beth would surely know what I’m talking about =P. I remember that little well of depression that I was going through in Year 10… And you gave me a wake up call. Smack bang in the face. No holding back. I’m not sure if you remember it. I haven’t thanked you for that yet, so: Thanks HEAPS (and I mean a LOT A LOT A LOT), I really needed it, and it did help, however harsh it was. Looking back at those conversations I realised how stupid and annoying I was:

    18th August 2004

…and probably still am, stupid and annoying. But hey, I’m learning (as well as we all are) very slowly, mother =]. You’ve done a part in returning me back to my normal self =]. I haven’t see you much since you went to North Sydney Girls, but even though, ironically, “Happy 2004” was always on my nickname, I’ll always remember the great times I had with you, Beth, Kat and Cindy =]. Yes,
    Love Fort Street.
(Whoops your pic doesn't have a border... I'll fix that later)

    KATHERINE

Aww… It’s cute little Katty Watty =] =] =]… Sorry, I had to use this opportunity to tease you since if I did it in real life… I’d get a good smackin’. In my first few days at Fort Street, I confused you with Reboc (cos you were both SO SHORT HAHAHA: you can’t hit me neeehhh). You’re an authentic tomboy obsessed with death, reapers and decaying corpses: at least that’s how I’d remember you. I also remember killing most of your bandwidth by downloading a trillion episodes of Happy Tree Friends on your computer and you got pissed… Hehe. It seems everywhere I go there’s always someone who finds it fun to bully me, and you’re the one from Fort Street. But of course, under that seemingly boyish-ness and thick-skinned-ness, is a girl who nevertheless joins and enjoys the fun like everyone else (source: Year 10 formal). Even though I haven’t seen you that often in the past two years, you never seemed to have changed: Kat will always be Kat =).

    JACKSON
    Jackson, Jackson,
Jackson... Need I remind you again of how we met (or at least, how I knew of your existence)? I think I've brought it up so many times that it has become cliched. But the relationship that started strange, I believe has been strange ever since. You keep thanking me for my part in helping you through certain things last year (and if you think your gratitude is insufficient then of course: bring on the Easyway.), but I also thank you for indirectly teaching me things that have changed me in the time I've known you (if you don’t believe me, ask Beth). For example, your "timeline"... That was an in-your-face way (on top of other things) to show me that honesty can probably take you further (and similarly you can get smacked in the face for bluntness). I have yet to meet anyone else who puts coloured dots on a piece of paper to represent who they liked during periods of time =D =D. Your willingness to put up with my lecturing I found amazing, cos if the roles were reversed I'd probably shoot you in the head. I think I've thrown my worst at you, and you more or less coped with every piece of shit I shot mercilessly out of the cannon: That is a unique and amazing ability =) (you have almost defied god).
Your plans to become “hottir” have so far @#&^%!@#&*#$^.
    Whoops typo.
It’s funny how you’re the one who’s telling me to cleanse my face and use toners =P. You have become a little queer girl boy.
I know for sure I'll be seeing you somewhat often in the next few years, so umm... nothing emotional XD. But of course… You're one of my closest friends and that'll stay true for as long as I know you =) (and I'll enjoy making you a source of my sadistic pleasure as much and for as long as I want).

    BILLY

I just read Jackson’s little shout out for you and yes omg: you’re supposed to be my “godbrother” too haha XD. But yes, things have changed and we haven’t been talking that much to each other since Year 11 (and thereafter, it was partly YOUR fault because you decided to get some other email and… yes you know the rest =P). I thought I’d write your little shout now, even though I’ve done jack all (in regards of homework) today. Don’t you feel special? When I first saw you in CS (the only class we shared), I thought: That guy looks like a lonesome nerd. I dunno, for some reason the style of your glasses just created that stereotype in my head, and I think I only saw you looking down at your work (first day at Fort Street… I think). And yes, we “met” on the internet exactly how you described it in your little shout out for me =P. “I specifically remember laughing at your email address”… Didn’t know about that, all I remember was that you told me you laughed at my hair…

    Which reminds me…!

You see… Those farewell messages you gave us (Me, Beth, Boc, Weil)… I still have them on my computer. A screen capture =P (Your site layout, everything). And I would like to mention, not stress, JUST mention, this following quotation:

“Gud lukz, I’ll buy u a tiket to our semi formal nex yr if u havn forgot abt ur fort fwenz.”. I would also like to mention, not stress, definitely not STRESS, that he didn’t shout me a ticket (nor did he bother turning up at the semi).

Just kidding =P. I know Billy’s a decent guy who keeps his promises at heart (except for that one).

You’re certainly a unique character, and made my life more interesting: not just by making me interested in Chinese music (believe me, I was a stubborn bitch who refused to believe that Chinese music had any substance to it… Until I talked to beelee), but also by simply being gay =]. I’ll frame the photo of you wearing my “chicks rock” singlet and put it on my wall someday =).

And of course you can be my “GG/bleak/._. friend” (never mind how those terms came about…)… Spontaneous chatter makes life more colourful xP.

I hope we’ll keep in close contact from here on, and probably see you in uni (though you made it seem like you’re more likely to be going to UNSW) so you can keep reminding me that I’m Asian.

    And of course: sunshine.lollipop s2 i.lyk.pnut =P

You’re back on my stalk list by the way.

    September 28

    FLOP '06

And yes, my final day on school grounds before the HSC starts is Fort Street. From previous entry:

Jennifer: Indeed our last days of production will be until the end of the HSC. Yeah and send your photos to me remember =P.

Beth: Should I have to frame you a picture of my reservoir of fat to remind you it's not "all muscle" =P? No I don't think you want that.

    Jackson: Mine's 20.3 now. Apparently.

Reboc: Haha... Greetings old friend. You should at least change "no name" to "Reboc" or something.

Jenny: The UAI is not a measure of smartness but is variable depending on: How much you study; Whether or not you go tutoring, and; How much of a social life you have (which is inversely proportional to your final results =).

My day started off with me leaving home with mum at around 9:00, wearing a school shirt and jeans (ie. traditional Fort Street uniform). Mum went shopping whilst I headed towards the station to find a long line of ticket buyers. Whilst I was in the line, a scary middle-aged Vietnamese lady with badly applied eyeliner and makeup approached me and started talking to me in Vietnamese. I told her that I’m not Vietnamese and she (seemed to have) walked away. I buy my ticket with the only money I had: a $20 note. The dude gave me change: $10 note, $5 note, $2 and 50c coin. Right after I turned around I was confronted by her again, this time talking in English.

Woman “Can I have five dollars? I lost my wallet.”

Me “Uhh… I need the money.”

    Woman “Two dollars?”

Me *Purposely looks very disgruntled and drops the $2 coin in the woman’s begging hands*

    Should’ve gave her the 50c.

Apologies to Ms. Moxham and Ms. Ross for trespassing on Fort Street school grounds (for the final time)... Beth and I would rather stick to the unofficial school motto: Once a Fortian, always a Fortian. I saw Billy and it was just like old days: he handed me his new collection of music on his iPod shuffle. I passed Kelvin in the grade below and exchanged with him a short piece of non-conversation (“HI WENDY!!” “HI KELVIN!!”). Of course I felt a bit uneasy during the beginning of the Flop (for non-Fort Streeters, it's basically a muck-up assembly for Year 12s, apart from the farewell and graduation...) as I was sitting between Jackson and Wallace, after being told by Richard that Ross kicked Andrew Tran (who never attended Fort Street... Andrew says it was "Fucking bullshit" that he got kicked out, lol). I wore the Fort Street jersey (yes, I have one, thank you Jackson =D), and people grinned whenever they pushed my hair aside to read the back (which I'm not going to disclose here). The actual Flop was quite awesome... The Umbilical Brothers imitation was just fantastic XD XD... Teachers dancing video... "Enrique Iglesias" Hero Music Video which was bloody hell disturbing and ruined the lovely original (but still, lol)... The random "Technical Issues" dude who wore nothing but an undersized white tutu and float ring that made him look like he had a giant swan's neck protruding from his groin... Then it was the final song/performance, we all had the song lyrics on the back of our programs:

Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you, tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart

Tell me your secrets and ask me your questions
Oh, let's go back to the start
Running in circles, coming up tails
    Heads on a science apart

Nobody said it was easy, it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy, no one ever said it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start

[Year 12 - start to move slowly to the stage]

    ...

That was when I thought "uh oh". I would have to go on stage with that suss tag on my back, where certain teachers might recognise me and question my presence. Oh no...!!! (Of course I could just stay in my seat whilst everyone forwards off and look even more suss). But I moved quickly on stage with everyone else and hid behind everyone... And then everyone walked off the stage and slowly made their way around the all in single file. Then I looked at the end of the line: Ms. Ross was hugging everyone, argh! Beth had the same reaction when I pointed at the would-be-very-awkward-situation. I devised a very elaborate escape plan: We'll be busting to go to the toilet when we reach the side doors.

And so we swiftly drifted out the doors towards the toilet. I actually wanted to go since I consumed a whole bottle of water during the Flop. We reckoned people won't be out of the hall yet after we washed our hands, so decided to read the interesting messages on each of the cubicle walls. One of the traditions of the toilet wall would always be present: The Hottest Guy In Each Grade (the Year 12 one was most filled-in). Juniors started coming in, so it was safe to move towards the outside of the hall again to join the crowd.

And half the people were crying. It vaguely reminded me of the aftermath of the Ruse Farewell, but there were less guys crying today. Jackson was crying like a baby. Wallace looked like he had a very bad case of hayfever. Cheng was looking as stoned and emotionless as usual. Billy was being homosexually provocative. Yeah, quite the usual really, just add some sobs. Then everyone signed each other's shirts, and I tagged them as well as Anton's face. The variety of hugs were interesting: Those who lifted you up because they're taller than you (Chenny, Billy, Ant), those who couldn't be bothered to bend down so you had to stand on your tiptoes, those who stabbed you in the stomach before hugging (Kat), those who were rather normal (Jackson and others). People spent one to two periods hugging, crying and signing.

Jackson, Beth and I decided to go to Burwood at around 2:30 to eat lunch. And yes, Jackson shouted me Easyway because he broke his no-contact-with-opposite-sex vow-thing =D. It was Oporto for lunch. Others arrived in the food court later. Then I caught the bus with Beth to Campsie. The first song I listened to on my iPod gave a sense of nostalgia: Sore Ga Ai Deshou – Mikuni Shimokawa. Train back to Bankstown by myself.

As I was sitting in Campsie station waiting for the train, I contemplated on what I missed out on. It’d be nice to have a graduation that you’d care about and probably cry about. I go into university with no sense of… almost identity of which school I came from. I didn't want to sing the graduation song half-heartedly. During both mass-crying sessions I felt like I was in my own little bubble, observing everyone else and hardly feeling what they’re going through. Well, less so in the Fort Street one, (almost) ironically. But I’ll definitely miss high school.

Three million, one hundred and fifty three thousand, six hundred minutes… =P

PS. I still don't know what FLOP stands for.

    TRIBUTES TO COME =D

    September 21

One day of school left... Ever

And I almost... just ALMOST... dont' give a damn.

Everyone's been carrying their cameras around this week, taking photos of everything and anything. To me some of them just look like stalkers (especially Beth =D... She took pictures of people reading, and Mr. Deigan in his office). But I brought my camera along too: I'm posting photos up basically every day. They're in the James Ruse album.

I'm quite happy with my trial report (except for Japanese Extension... hehe):
    English - Mark: 90/100 (Mean: 90), Rank: 99/168
    Maths - Mark: 97/100 (Mean: 93), Rank: 10/74 (alllllllmooosttt....)
    Maths Ext 1 - Mark: 47/50 (Mean: 46), Rank: 103/153
    Japanese - Mark: 93/100 (Mean: 88), Rank: 4/13
    Japanese Ext 1 - Mark: 42/50 (Mean: 42), Rank: 4/9
    Biology - Mark: 92/100 (Mean: 91), Rank: 20/50 (could've done betterrr...)

But I'm happy with my estimated UAI of 98.05 (:

And extraordinary discovery today: Mr. Quinlan (our principal) was the science teacher of Richard's maths teacher (Fort Street... whoever that is >_> He didn't bother to reply to me hmph)..

Apparently I'm getting fatter... Jackson was kind enough to point that out to me. So I decided to weigh myself for like the first time this year. The last time I was 55kg (whenever the hell that was...) and this time it measured 58kg =O =O... I gained 3 kg! And my BMI is 21. I like =) (but would rather have more muscle and less fat.. heh).

Sorry for talking about myself so much =)... But really nothing goes on around here >_>

Soon to farewell UAI factory (a Chris term... I like it).

Rest in Peace, Steve Irwin 22/2/1962 – 4/9/2006

I'll need to work soon so I'll keep it short.

Yesterday afternoon, I really couldn't believe it when I found out why all the turtles were in front of everyone's nicknames. To me I always thought Steve Irwin was invincible (despite what he did for a living, he always seemed to be quite joyful and most of the time, in control of the situation). And I'd have never thought I'd be this upset to hear about the death of a celebrity, but I guess it's because he was a great ambassador for Australia, as well as its icon and "spirit" (quote Jackson). Family guy, true blue Aussie, always full of energy. "He died doing what he loved". My deepest sympathies to the Irwin family. He will be dearly missed.

    Anyway...

    http://www.rottentomatoes.com/vine/journal_view.php?journalid=341727&view=public
I've put my movie ratings on this site.... Haha.

Okay I'll leave it there. Until next time, farewell.

Edit (8/9): I would like to express my opinion on one particular Australian feminist. I could give a long speech if I wanted to, but I doubt anyone would want to hear me ramble. If you have no idea who I'm talking about then read the 6th September SMH, page 7, down the page, you'll see a (ugly) woman. This is my comment:

Desktoppy =D... Dudu do you like? Do you like?

Woaah I have no comments for my last blog I feel so alienated =(…. Lol. (Wait, Beth's there. lol)

    1 Exam left… And it’s on the 19th (this Saturday!! >.<)

I am also proud to announce that during a week (from last last Tuesday till last Tuesday; yes, during my trials), I’ve watched the following movies (rented):

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 4.5/5 (awesome =)

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 5/5 (obviously, it was like my 3rd time watching it)

Finding Neverland 4.5/5 (beautifully touching… loved it)

Brothers Grimm 2.5/5 (quite confusing to begin with…)

Mr. and Mrs. Smith 3/5 (t’was alright… but what’s so good about Brad Pitt)

Edward Scissorhands 4/5 (I found it quite sad =(… But another wonderful job by Burton)

A Series of Unfortunate Events 3/5 (Carrey is awesome though… I don’t fancy prolonged exposure – here being around 2 hours – to gothic grimness… but check out Carrey in this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Dy1LHKvFv-g, it’s bound to make you laugh =D)

Oh speaking of youtube.com, you should check this out too: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ujlG4U4xVu0

    Hilarious =)

    ..

    XD

Movies I’ll be wanting to watch (probably next week):

    Chocolat

    Lost in La Mancha

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Oh, and my Powerplay visual representation… sucks XD!!

I was a bit too nervous when giving my speech because I didn’t expect to do it so early (stupid late people). Thank you Weil for accompanying me ahaha =P.

I found this quote today, and it pretty much summarises my view on religion:

“It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.”

    -          Carl Sagan

I’ve always had this little theory that religion was only created by humans as a comforting story behind their existences.

Before religious people try to shoot me, I’d also like to believe that there’s a higher being that would lead us (ME!!) to heaven (hopefully…)… But I confess I’m not doing a great job convincing myself.

    Jigging to study

Bethany humbly pointed out that we're the only school where students jig to study. (Well, can't call it jigging since I've got permission =D).
Not going tomorrow (Year 12's going to be practically empty because of UMAT... sucked in to all med-wannabe nerds), nor the day after... And here are my excuses =D:
    1. Free in the morning.
    2. Double English with drone-bot.
    3. Double maths... which is replaced with the maths competition.
    4. Double free.
    5. Biology (the only thing worth going to...)
And my legit excuse?: I'm going to be feeling very "unwell" on these two days. Yes =D.

Quote of the day yesterday occured in the following situation:
Senior common room. Beth and I were waiting for my noodles to cook. Then we shuffled towards the sink (which is towards the microwave, which has an "anonymous" guy standing next to it). We lean towards the sink to pour the water out.
Anonymous male: "Hey do you want babies?"

Well, he wasn't talking to us. He was directing that at another guy who was standing too close to the microwave (hence radiation, hence deformed sperm).

I hate English =(... I hope I don't stuff up: especially paper 2... three bloody essays arghh!! In one week I would've done it already... I wonder if I'll be dead in one week's time...

Jackson: Not finding Jack Sparrow "hot" doesn't mean I have "bad taste" =)...
Jennifer: Normal saturation of oxygen (when using the pulse oximeter) in haemoglobin is around (quoted from a worksheet: 5.6 Measuring blood gases =D) "95% - 100%... for a healthy person". It is considered very unhealthy to have "only 83%". I SHALL OWN YOU IN BIO HARRRRR!!
    Chris:
is that a compliment?... i like the orange telstra shirts (:
    also
    i look year ... 10?
    also
i only bought that umbrella cos it was raining outside and i left my umbrella at school and since i've lost two umbrellas already i bought a very similar one so mum won't flame me =)... it stopped raining when i got out >_>
    also
give to the poor, poor being wendy
    also
    yup i agree, t'was awesome
    also
    you're WRONG. he's UBER COOL
    also
    O_o
    also
i'm taking the first 4 weeks of wushu off, to be a nerd =D

Oh yeah muck-up photo was shit. High-angle photos baaaaad.
I've added stuff in my "Scrapbook Album"... nothing interesting really, I just got a bit bored trying to study >.>
I was re-watching V for Vendetta, and thought about why the High Chancellor looked soo familar... And thought it would've been the actor who played Winston Smith in Nineteen Eighty-Four (which was produced in 1984). I searched it up and I was right :O! It seems just a teeeny bit ironic.

    Wednesday 2nd August

    I address the silence.

At last the two worst days of the trials are over! Even though I got shit for both my Japanese speaking tests =(

I saw Reboc last Friday at Centro Bankstown >_>... It turned out that her, Billy and King have been going to tutor at Bankstown for an entire term and I didn't know!! I saw Carney and Carven yesterday too... With very short hair =)

I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yesterday... Gonna watch Finding Neverland today.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what films I should watch...? Cos I'm gonna get very bored for a while.

Free day today. Free day tomorrow. Maths the day after.

    Shingles

I took a day off school today, for what I think are pass-able reasons:
    1. In all honesty, I can't be bothered.
    2. First period English: Having had a taste of what our new substitute English teacher was like on Tuesday (after our old one decided to ditch us on the last term of our HSC course), I don't think it would have been all that enlightening/constructive/interesting/endurable.
    3. Second period Japanese: self-explanatory.
    4. Third period free. Reccess. Double free. Lunch.
    5. Sixth period maths: The only lesson worth going to today, that's if our teacher actually turns up, unlike on Tuesday and Wednesday.
    6. Seventh period biology: Our teacher wouldn't be there, he told us to bring notes to study for the trials.

So instead, I went to the doctor's (at Parramatta) with mum to see why the hell my left arm's been hurting (for no apparent reason) for the past week. In regards of that, he commented "I really hope it's not shingles. *taps the rash-looking-thing-on-my-shoulder*". Also, my nasal passageways are apparently extremely blocked, so my haemoglobin oxygen saturation (hello, bio people =D) would "probably be around 80%", as opposed to the normal 100%. Maybe that explains my ice cold feet.

He prescribed me icky icky bitter Chinese herbal medicine. And put a patch thing on my arm to ease the pain ("If blisters start popping up, come and see me again"... Eww bubbly skin...).

I can't be sick before the trials!!

And shingles are ugly. Some travel around your waist, or around your face (oh God eww). Even the Chinese name for it is ugly: 生蛇.

On a lighter note, I wrote this mini-entry a few days ago and saved it on my computer to supplement (mm... supplementary texts...) my next blog.

    14th July Mini entry

This is morally degrading for myself to proclaim but I LOVE JACK SPARROW >.< >.< >.<!! I assure you I’ve never obsessed over a movie character/characters, actor/actresses before, except this one. I’ve also been reading some pretty interesting comments on Jack Sparrow on DeviantArt, like this one:

“Jack Sparrow lives in my bed on tuesdays and pleasures me.”

…I’m definitely not going that far.

Isn’t it wonderful to escape reality into LaLaLand? I mean, study for trials, Jack Sparrow, study for trials, Jack Sparrow, seriously, which one would you prefer?

Obviously there wouldn’t be anyone in real life that acts like Jack Sparrow. That’s probably a good thing.

Johnny Depp is 43 years old… So I’ll proclaim the next best thing: HE’S MY DAD !! Jack Sparrow, not Johnny Depp, I don’t want to associate myself with Willy Wonka =).

    Oedipus complex.

    No.

    I'm such a tool.

But hey, Johnny Depp is a damn good actor. I thought he was dead before year 10 lol (when Charlie and the Chocolate Factory came out... I think). Mistook him for the "Live fast, die young" guy (James Dean). Oooh same initials =D...

    Edit: 21/7

I have found a John Howard petpet.

    Dead Man's Chest

Saturday: Outing in the city for Beth's, Violet's and Suyan's birthdays. Japanese restaurant then K. Then got flamed by mum for getting home after dark... XD...
I also had the urge to impale Jennifer,
during a certain time of the day, for her lack of curtesy for the passively aggressive - me.

Greetings to those who commented on my last "blog":
Chris: Oh, I thought you were dead (three weeks no wushu, was it?) =D.
    Jenny: Me too. Me too.
Beth: Yes, you should be thankful =P.
    Weil: Lol?
Jackson: I think this is the wrong place to complain about your toe retardation =).

Yesterday: I thought that there was track work on the Bankstown line so I left half an hour earlier than usual (around 8:00AM) as I have no idea when the bus would come. It turned out that there were trains, so I arrived at 8:55AM at Redfern station, 35 minutes earlier than the meeting time. I was shivering on platform 5 whilst trying to read Nineteen Eighty-Four until Harry and Jackson came - so I shivered next to the ticket barriers for another half an hour. Yes, another half an hour because certain people were not very punctual =).

So we made our way to USYD's Fisher library and stayed there for 90 minutes or so. I did a fair amount of work... At least I thought I did.
Currently listening to: Wheels of Fortune - Hans Zimmer
After explaining that I wouldn't be able to watch the 1PM session of Pirates (because I'd be getting home after dark, again), the others happily agreed to watch the 12PM one too =D.
Lunch was Subway and a cup of Gloria Jeans ice chocolate smuggled into the cinemas.

The movie was pretty good overall. I give it a 8.75/10 =D (previous one being a 9 or a 10). Graphics more gross this time, and it was a bit too long (2 hours and 30 minutes... But I really didn't want to go to the toilet during the movie). And omg, evil Hollywood tactics! The end... was... ...!!
Well I'm pretty sure I want all three movie DVDs when they do eventually come out. Box set would be cool. Mmm...
Love the theme song (He's a Pirate).

    OLD NEWS

    Sunday

Wushu was gay we had to train on the rooftop basketball court. Kept telling my brother off for not letting go of my spear and I in turn got told off with my brother for handling “other” people’s weapons (I had my hands on my spear so I could yank it out of his hands). My hair band broke. *bitch bitch bitch bitch*, etc.

Then we (me, Beth, Jackson) went to Fort Street Festival! We got driven there. We were greeted by Cathy who told us we missed everything (we… sort of knew that =( ) and Chenny who literally tackled and lifted me. Haha fun..

I went to the festival so I could see Reboc, to give her a late late late late present (it was a framed photo of her birthday thing after all, it has to be late). We discovered later that she has a fever and couldn’t come =\. Ended up fattening ourselves with kebab and sausage and ice-cream (I’m fat).

I got home at around 2:40PM. As soon as I got a drink of water I slept for two hours straight, till 5PM. Washed my hair. Went on MSN.

As you can see I got nothing done (study-wise) on the weekend.

    …Shit.

    END OF OLD NEWS

And now for a slice of conversation in the midst of last week’s assessment gooeyness:

    - schMile* =] says:

omg i dont' wanna touch maths =(

     - lol -  touches maths

     - lol -  molests maths

    - schMile* =] says:

    okay

Term 2 assessments are over and now it’s time to prepare for the trials… My HSC Japanese speaking exams are in 1.5 months… I can hardly believe it =/. My trial revision timetable looks ugly.

My English teacher is taking leave next term… And getting replaced by the teacher who everyone has labelled as “The Shittest”. We’re failing Powerplay, yup.

I also never knew the bags under my eyes were so dark. Perhaps it’s not so much due to study… Probably because I’ve been playing Kingdom Hearts during my exams (Hehe!).

    Look what I found yesterday:
    Alas, poor students... http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/alas-poor-students-133/2005/08/14/1123957949797.html

“…One of the most derided terms on the syllabus is "text".

The head of English at Newington College, Michael Parker, said it was just one shadowy expression that could distract students from enjoying the course. "The turgid language in which a lot of the syllabus is phrased obscures the fact that what it is actually proposing is often exciting and invigorating," he said. He translated the outcomes into plain English for his students.

But the Australian poet Les Murray said that might not be going far enough. "They could call it Lying Studies, because it prepares kids to talk the bullshit they need in the workplace."…”

They hit the nail on the head.

I shall get an iPod shuffle! Lol… after all the times I’ve dissed it… But yeah, I’m getting sick of listening to the radio everyday.

Back to researching on “The Scream”.

    Absolute peace

A week of stressful procrastination, especially with a substitute maths teacher who kept telling us that our assessments are “only 15 school days away!”.

Not much to say cos everything’s flown out of my head =).

But let’s observe a masterpiece that my father has created approximately 11:00PM last night:

Not many words of exchanged during it’s creation, just:

Mum “What do you think you’re doing?! Chucking a tantrum?! (你干什么?! 又发脾气啦?? (‘fat meng zeng..?’))”

    Dad “Yes I am! (是啊!)”

In Japanese… I didn’t get much done except for drawing an alternate version of what Super Mario should be like:

I took two pics on the way home, one during March and one today. Here are the effects of autumn:
